What are your scrapping plans for this last weekend of 2007?

Well, I mentioned in a previous post that I am going to an all night scrappy tomorrow night. 2 Peas Blogger Challenge...

What project are you just ready to start creating now that the holidays are done?

Well, mainly I still have a Christmas gift for my mom to finish. I need to do that ASAP. I am going to an all night scrappy on the 29th and I will finish it then and also work on some pages that I have been thinking about. I really just want to do more scrapping and also begin a journal for my goals for this year and going forward. Or maybe not so much a journal maybe just an LO. I am thinking on my options there.

Halloween Pics....

I went to a crop yesterday...

I went to a crop yesterday and I had such a great time and I got 12 12x12 pages done and 4 6x6 pages done. I am so pleased with how much I did. I also signed up for an all night crop at Scrapbook Fever the weekend after Thanksgiving. I hope I can get more done then since I have not had a very productive scrappy year. I dreamt of scrapbooking all night long. LOL Here is some of what I got done:

One of the peas on 2 peas read an entry on my blog I wrote about fitting in. Well, she peamailed me and said that she hoped that she was not being too personal, but that she wanted to know if I really feel that way and if I do that I could have a depersonalization disorder. Well, I went and looked it up and BINGO! I am not a doctor, but I am pretty damn sure that I have it. If anyone who is reading this is interested, here is a link. Depersonailzation Disorder

With the holiday season right around the corner. Have you started to do any baking or planning?

Nope. I mean I have thought about it, but I haven't started. It is time to start on the hand made gifts that I want to do. I need to work on my christmas cards and many other things. I have just been really busy with Victoria starting kindergarten and the Daisies.

On the daisy note, we had our first meeting last night. It went pretty well. I also have scheduled for mid November to take my first aid class. I am already CPR certified, but I need to be first aid certified in order for us to be able to go places. I also gave the other co-leader a check to get Victoria's smock and book for Daisies since she is going to the Girl Scout store today. I can't wait to see Victoria in that cute smock! Can you say scrapbook page? LOL

(10-16 points) You are Garfield :

You are very comfortable, easy going, and you definitely know how to
have fun but sometimes you take it to an extreme. You always know
what you are doing and you are alway s in control of your life. Others may
not see things as you do, but that doesn't mean that you always have
to do what is right. Try to remember, your happy spirit may hurt you
or others.

(17-23 points) You are Snoopy:

You are fun, you are very cool and popular. You always know what's in
and you are never are out of style You are good at knowing how to
satisfy everyone else. You have probably disappeared for a few days
more than once but you always come home with the family values that
you learned. Being married and having children are important to you,
but only after you have had your share of fun times

(24-28 points) You are Elmo:
You have lots of friends and you are also popular, always willing to
give advice and help out a person in need. You are very optimistic
and you always< BRsee the bright side of things. Some good advice:
try not to be too much of a dreamer. Dreaming too big could cause
many conflicts inyour life.

(29-35 points) You are Sponge Bob Square Pants:
You are the classic person that everyone loves. You are the best
friend that anyone could ever have and never wants to lose. You never
cause harm to anyone and they would never not understand your
feelings. Life is a journey, it's funny and calm for the most part.
Stay away from traitors and jealous people, and you will be stress
free.

(36-43 points) You are Charlie Brown:
You are tender, you fall in love quickly but you are also very
serious about all relationships. You are a family person. You call
your Mom every Sunday. You have many friends and may occasionally forget a few Birthdays.
Don't confuse your passion with reality.

(44-50 points) You are Dexter:
You are smart and definitely a thinker... Every situation is fronted
with a plan. You have a brilliant mind. You demonstrate very strong
family principles. You maintain a stable routine but never ignore a
bad situation when it comes. Try to do less over thinking every once
in a while to spice things up a bit with spontaneity!

So, who are YOU???

2 Peas Blogger 10/25/07

When your scrapping/card making do you ever look at your surrounding for ideas?

I have no idea. Most of the time, my ideas just come to me. With absolutely no explanation LOL.

I know that this is a very interesting post, but oh well, I did i.

Tagged by Carol Wingert...

1. Link to the person's blog who tagged you. The amazingly talented and inspirational Carol Wingert! Carol Wingert

2. List seven weird things about yourself...OK, weirdness is in the eye of the beholder...let's call it "unique things" about yourself.

----1. I love the taste of peaches, but can't stand peaches with the skin on because of the fuzz. UGH! It makes my skin crawl to think of it.
----2. I am allergic to sunblock, but I am very fair skinned. Strange I know! This is how I know that God has a sense of humor. LOL
----3. I like the smell of gasoline. I know, most people hate it. But I love the smell.
----4. I can't stand the news, it depresses me and makes me sad. Why don't they report something happy?
----5. Ok, the news makes me sad, but I love to watch Forensic Files. My husband says that it depresses him more than the news. It doesn't depress me because I know at the end, they catch the bad guy.
----6. I can't stand the idea of a butterfly touching me. Any bug at all for that matter. To me a pretty bug is just the same as an ugly bug.
----7. My favorite physical feature about myself is my nose. I am pretty sure that is the last thing they will say.

3. Tag seven people to do the same and post a comment on their blog.

ok so here goes...
** Shanna LambShanna Lamb, you are tagged. She is one of my fave scrappers and I haunt her blog. I love her shabby chic style!

Blog about something inspiring that you've heard/read lately.
Blog about it.

The most inspiring thing I have heard/read is from the lesson plan for my daughter's daisy girlscout troop. The lesson if for them to earn their "Responsible for what I say and do" petal. They have to color a picture and then crumple it into a ball and then you see the wrinkles in the paper and then you explain that whenyou say something mean or do something bad it always leaves a mark on that person. Then you squeeze a tube of toothpaste and tell them to put the toothpaste back in the tube. Of course, the moral there is that sometimes you say or do things that you can't take back.

Oh boy am I glad that I am a leader because I NEED THESE LESSONS. So do a lot of other adults I know. Why is there not an adult girl scouts? LOL

Blogger 10/22/07

What is your biggest achievement so far this year?

I would have to say that starting the electronic medical records system at work is my biggest achievement. The amount of planning and coordinating it took to accomplish that is just more than I can say.

In my personal life, getting Victoria ready for her first year of school and starting up with the Daisy girl scouts.

It's been a busy year and I can't even think of everything.

Sunday, October 21, 2007

Fun Day!

We went to the pumpkin patch and we went to the girl scout's chili cook off. The weather is absolutely gorgeous!!!

2 Peas Blogger Challenge...

What is your favorite fall activity? what fall traditions do you have?

My favorite fall activity is picking out pumpkins. Not necessarily the act of carving pumpkins, but of picking them out at the pumpkin patch. I love to be in the outdoors with the air crisp and clean smelling and all of the gorgeous colors of fall surrounding me. I love the excitement that I see in my daughter and her adorable penchant for choosing the "charlie brown christmas tree" of pumpkins so to speak.

Traditions...mainly picking out pumpkins, decorating for halloween, and carving pumpkins. Not really anything super different. Heck, maybe my family needs some new traditions. LOL

Today's Inspiration

The following are layouts by suzdoyle on 2peas:

The History of Love....Nicole Krauss

The History of Love....Nicole Krauss....you inspire me.

Once upon a time there was a girl. When she was young, she felt like there was no where that she belonged. When she got older, the feeling would go away for a time, but 90% of the time she felt like somehow she was on the outside looking in. She always wondered how everyone else seemed to have it so...together, that they always seemed to know the right thing to do and seemed to say the right things and seemed to fit like pieces in a puzzle. She dreamed that someday she would meet someone/someones that she would fit with like pieces in a puzzle. Like perfectly fitting pieces in a puzzle. Someone/Someones that would understand her. But she never seemed to find that person...and even at 31 years old, even when she was married and had a beautiful child, she never seemed to fit in...and she wondered...does anyone feel like they fit in? those people who seemed to have it all together? did they feel like they were on the outside looking in? was everyone like a pea in a land of corn?

Anyway, as strange as the above post was, read The History of Love by Nicole Krauss.

Thoughts...

I am terrible about blogging....

Narcissism describes the character trait of self love.
I have been thinking about this, I don't think that word accurately describes my mother, character trait of self absorbtion would be more accurate however, she certainly loves herself more than she ever loved me. ***note....the author is not nearly as emotionally as disturbed as she sounds, it is just a fact of life to her***
Anyway, I have been going through amazon.com and adding to my wishlist just for fun. My mother has been on my mind, I would like to understand her. So I put on my wishlist books about Munchausen's syndrome and malingering and factious disorders. Big difference here...hypochondriacts really believe they are sick, Muchausen's they know they are not sick and pretend to be sick to get attention. I certianly beleive that my mother has Munchausen's and to tell you honestly it makes me very leary of myself and my own motivations. Plus I can't tell you how much it has affected me in my business and personal life, whenever someone around me tells me that they are sick...I think that they are lying or exagerating unless there is actual physical undeniable proof. It makes it hard with your husband when he wants a little sympathy for feeling sick and you can't give it to him. I am just completely unable. Christian has to bring up to me that I am being this way and even then, I have to pretend to have any sympathy for him. He will say, I am feeling sick and I say, I am sorry you feel that way and honestly I can't even fool him. At least he is understanding about it though.

This is the affect that Brenda Vanderpool has had on my life. Not to mention the affect that she has had on the numerous people around her and my half brother and sister. I wish there was some way to show her the havoc she has wreaked and on all the people she has affected. You know like Scrooge. Wouldn't that be nice?

It also make me think about things like, oh dear God what if I turn out like her! or what have I done that may have affected people adversely and negatively for the rest of their lives. UGH!!! These are some really heavy thoughts.

Multiple Randomness coming...

First of all, I absolutely love the song Vincent by Don Mclean. i really love Josh groban's version. Here are the lyrics:

Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winter chills,
In colors on the snowy linen land.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

Starry, starry night.
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze,
Swirling clouds in violet haze,
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue.
Colors changing hue, morning field of amber grain,
Weathered faces lined in pain,
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

For they could not love you,
But still your love was true.
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night,
You took your life, as lovers often do.
But I could have told you, Vincent,
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you.

Starry, starry night.
Portraits hung in empty halls,
Frameless head on nameless walls,
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget.
Like the strangers that you've met,
The ragged men in the ragged clothes,
The silver thorn of bloody rose,
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.

Now I think I know what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they're not listening still.
Perhaps they never will...

Absolutely fantabulous song!!!

Ok, we got a dog. She is a basset hound and she is absolely gorgeous, but driving us crazy with the entire potty training thing. But, she is going to be a wonderful dog when that is all taken care of.

I have joined weight watchers, I have been on it almost a week and I have lost 2 pounds so far. :)

Life Lesson #25

Never speak to those you work with unless it is about work related things happening right at that time. Especially if you work with back stabbing lying women. (really I wanted to say another word there but anyway) So, newsflash...I am NEVER speaking to the women that I work with any more. I mean that. I am so freaking tired of the drama. Life is just to short to have to deal with people saying she told me that you said blah blah blah and they take what you said out of context or completely exaggerated it. Actually maybe I should just open my own business and just have me be the owner and workers etc and then I won't have to deal with this stupid crud. Or not speaking to anyone...that will work too.

Don't you love these...

Disney photos...Scarlett Johannson, David Beckham so awesome....

Disney, random musings etc.....

Well, Christian and I are getting ready to try to plan a trip to Disney. I know there is like this whole anti-Disney thing out there, but I will be honest. I LOVE DISNEY!!!!! Disney everything! I can't wait to go. I loved it last time. Hopefully we will be able to afford it and even to stay at the Grand Floridian!!!! That is like the best hotel at Disney. The only thing that is up for grabs is that Dell bonus. We are anxiously waiting to see what it will be so we can see what we can afford. **Keep your fingers crossed.**

---My baby girl is almost ready to start Kindergarten!!! Can you believe it?! So the dilemma? Where does she go to school? Public? Private? So let's discuss the first option... Public. So, the school in our area is Union Hill. It is freaking enormous!!! Like seriously huge! You see that picture above? That is it! Somehow, that picture just doesn't even begin to show how large that school is. I mean it is scarey big! Good news is that the school EXCEEDS state and local ratings on academics. They have really awesome scores. So here is a list of Pros:
1. Close to home
2. High academic scores
3. No issues regarding after school care--There is on site after school care
Cons:
1. ENORMOUS--I am afraid that my little person will be lost in a sea of children.
2. There are 7!!!! Count it 7! Kindergarten classes...about 22 children per class, that is approx 150 children just in Kindergarten!
3. It looks like a friggin instiution. I mean I thought at first that it looked like a prison.
4. It is larger than my HIGH SCHOOL!!!!
Ok, so the next option.... Private school...namely Round Rock Christian Academy
Pros:
1. My child will not only learn the basic subjects, but about God! That is such a draw for me!
2. Small school..3 Kindergarten classes. Smaller classes, means more individual attention. Children learn at their own pace...all children are not working on the same things. When they have mastered an area of study, they move on to the next level.
3. I am familiar with the curriculum...A Beka. That is the same curriculum that Christian's brothers and sisters were taught in home school. Which BTW, is really great.
4. Close to my work. :)
Cons:
1. It is at a BAPTIST church. However, they do state that they do not teach BAPTIST doctrine. However, it does still concern me.
2. It is expensive. We currently pay around $600 for child care a month. It will be around $650 for this and that would even include me having to adjust my schedule to be later. Which I don't mind. However, now I drop my child off at 7:15 and pick her up around 4:30-5 every night. I will have to drop her off at 8:15 and therefore Christian will have to pick her up before 6.
3. You have to APPLY and be accepted. They have to have an interview with Christian and I and they have to test Victoria.
I am currently leaning toward RR Christian Academy. I am just really hoping that God will help with this!!! Everyone pray for the perfect situation for Victoria's education. I would really appreciate it!
I need prayers too. I am finding that I am how should I say this...dissatisfied with my personality. I am just a very BOLD person to say the least. I guess my personality is hard for people to deal with. I just don't want to be someone that people can't stand to be around and apparently since I am just so IN YOUR FACE, I am not that easy to be around. I don't want to be that person. I really don't. I am so frustrated, I feel like I have really made a lot of improvement in my life. I am so much more responsible than I used to be. I don't drink often and when I do, I am very very conservative. This is a HUGE improvement for me. I guess I am just frustrated because when I fix one thing about myself, 15 different things that need to be improved upon pop up! Plus, I am a perfectionist and I can't stand it when I have a flaw!!!! I mean its ok for other people to have flaws, but not me! So the real question...Why do I need to change me? I mean I honestly kind of feel like telling people to go take a freaking stick and stick it in a not so nice place if they don't like me. I mean if you don't like me, then go away. So, I guess do I like me? Honestly, I think that I am strong and that I LOVE! But, I don't want to be that person that everyone thinks is annoying. I mean there is this woman that is an accountant that I have to work with and I can't stand her! I can't stand her personality, she is just too way over the top and so unpleasant. So I am just wondering, Am I like that to other people? I just need prayers to help change the things that I need to change and keep the things that I need to keep.
WOW! There is a lot of heavy stuff there, so I think that I will just stop writing for a while.
